Injectables

Anti-wrinkle injections

A few small units, in the right places, by someone who knows when to stop.

What it is

Anti-wrinkle injections use a tiny dose of botulinum toxin — most commonly Botox® or Azzalure® — to soften the small muscles that crease the skin when you frown, smile or squint. Over time those repeated movements etch lines in; this treatment gives the muscles a few months off so the skin above them can settle.

It's the most precisely-controlled injectable we offer. We adjust units in increments of two — every face is different, and a well-judged forehead is the difference between rested and frozen.

What it treats

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines (the "11s" between the brows)
  • Crow's feet at the outer eye
  • Bunny lines on the nose
  • Gummy smile and chin dimpling
  • A square lower face from a heavy masseter muscle
  • Excessive sweating of the underarms, palms or feet
  • Teeth grinding and jaw tension
  • Migraine, in appropriate cases (referred to a prescribing specialist)

How it works

  1. 1 We sit down for fifteen to twenty minutes and look at your face moving — that's where the plan comes from, not from looking at photographs.
  2. 2 A few small injections, with the finest needle the product allows. Most clients describe the sensation as a quick scratch.
  3. 3 You go home. The product begins to take effect over the next 3–5 days and reaches its full result by day 14.
  4. 4 A complimentary review at two weeks. If a small top-up is needed to even out a brow or soften an area further, we do it then.

What to expect

Appointment time

20–30 minutes for the appointment itself

Downtime

No real downtime. You can return to work the same day. Avoid horizontal positions, alcohol and strenuous exercise for the rest of the day.

How it feels

A series of brief scratches. Most people find it more comfortable than they expected.

Aftercare

Don't massage the treated areas for 24 hours. No facials, saunas or heavy workouts that day. Keep your head upright for four hours afterwards.

Results visible

Subtle softening from day 3, full result by day 14

How long they last

Three to four months on average. Longer for some, shorter for others.

Is this right for you?

A good fit if

  • You'd like to soften lines that you can see at rest, not just when you move
  • You're starting in your late 20s or 30s for a preventative approach
  • You're prepared to come back every 3–4 months to maintain the result

Not the right time if

  • You're pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
  • You have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis
  • You have an active infection in the area to be treated
  • You want a single dramatic change rather than an honest, gradual softening

FAQs

Will I look frozen?

Not from us. We use small doses and review you in two weeks. If anything, our most common feedback is that no one can tell — people just say you look well-rested.

How young is too young?

There's no magic age. We don't treat under 18s. Most clients who start in their 20s do so for prevention — small, occasional doses on lines that only show when they move. We'll tell you honestly if we think you don't need it yet.

How long until it kicks in?

You may notice a softening from day 3. The full effect is at day 14. We see you for a free review then to assess and top up if needed.

How long does it last?

Three to four months for most people. After several treatments, some clients find the result lasts a little longer as the muscles weaken slightly with use.

What's the difference between Botox and Azzalure?

They're both botulinum toxin type A, used for the same purpose, with very similar results. We'll choose based on your previous experience and the area we're treating.

Can I exercise the same day?

Best not — for that one day. Wait 24 hours before any heavy workout, hot yoga, sauna or steam. Walking is fine.

I want my masseters slimmed. Is that the same treatment?

Same product, different muscle. Masseter treatment relaxes the chewing muscle to soften a square jawline and reduce teeth grinding. It's a slower change — usually two sessions, six weeks apart, then maintenance every 4–6 months.
