What it is
PDO (polydioxanone) threads are fine, dissolvable filaments — the same material used in dissolvable surgical sutures for decades. Inserted just under the skin, they lift sagging tissue instantly and stimulate the body to lay down new collagen along the thread path over the months that follow.
Two effects, one treatment: the immediate lift (mechanical) and the longer-game tightening (biological) as your own collagen reinforces the area before the threads fully dissolve.

How it works
- 1 Consultation: we map the lift vectors on your face and discuss whether threads alone are right, or whether a combination with filler or skin boosters makes more sense.
- 2 Local anaesthetic is injected at the insertion points along the temple and behind the ear.
- 3 Threads are introduced under the skin through a fine cannula. Each thread is anchored, then drawn back gently — the lift you see is the lift you keep.
- 4 The full lower face takes 60–90 minutes. You go home the same day.

Tenderness, mild swelling and possible bruising for 3–7 days. Most clients book a long weekend around it.
How it feels
Local anaesthetic numbs the area entirely. You will feel pressure and movement but not pain.
Aftercare
No facials, saunas or vigorous exercise for two weeks. Sleep on your back. Avoid wide-mouthed eating and excessive facial expression for the first week. Gentle face washing only.

Immediate lift on the day; the natural-looking refinement builds over 4–8 weeks as collagen forms
How long they last
12–18 months. The threads dissolve fully by 6–9 months; the collagen they leave behind continues to support the lift after that.

Will I see results immediately?
Yes — the mechanical lift is visible the moment you sit up. The result improves further over 4–8 weeks as your own collagen reinforces the lifted position.
How long does it last?
Most clients are pleased with the result for twelve to eighteen months. The threads themselves dissolve within nine months; the collagen they trigger persists beyond that.
Is it instead of a facelift?
It's an option for people who aren't ready for surgical facelift, not a substitute for it at every stage of ageing. We will tell you honestly whether threads are right for the skin you have today, or whether the surgical conversation is the better one.
Will I be able to feel the threads?
For the first week or so you may feel a slight pull when you smile widely or chew tougher food. This settles within 7–14 days as the threads relax into place.
How much downtime is realistic?
Plan for a long weekend. Some tenderness and possible bruising at insertion points for 3–7 days. Most clients are back to work on day 3, though we suggest avoiding social events for the first week if you can.
